Simon—the little rabbit from Poo Bum—is back!

There’s a new baby in Simon’s house. “When’s that stupid baby going back to the hospital?” Simon asks his parents. But the baby is there to stay. What about all the scary wolves outside the house? The wolves that want to eat Simon up? Will his parents still protect him now they have a stupid baby?

Stephanie Blake’s passion for writing and illustrating began in childhood when she created books for her brothers and sisters as birthday presents. As a child, she also fell in love with the books of Dr. Seuss, Ludwig Bemelmans, and William Steig. After moving to France, she discovered other writers and artists whose work continued to inspire her stories and drawings. She is the author and illustrator of dozens of highly successful books in France, many of them children’s favorites.

An excellent picture book which understands the trials and tribulations of a new sibling from a child’s point of view.

The strong, gem-like colours and simple, clear composition of the cartoon-style illustrations are visually appealing. And Simon is an engaging character, his predicament a familiar one. Stupid Baby is an entertaining exposition of childhood fears, handled with aplomb, humour and insight.
