Gorillas are the world’s biggest primate. They are often portrayed as aggressive, but are actually shy, peaceful, and intelligent vegetarians.

Dr Carla Litchfield is a scientist at Adelaide Zoo, who has studied Great Apes in the field in Africa and in captivity in Australia. She is also a lecturer at the University of South Australia, and in 2000 was awarded the ‘Unsung Hero of Australian Science’ by The Australian Science Communicators.

Providing accessible, interesting, factual information, such as is included in The Gorilla Book and other titles in the series, will not only help children to understand their world, but also to understand how they can help keep it diverse and viable. Recommended for early primary and beyond.
