Sue Whiting captures all the excitement of looking forward to experiencing something new, and all the trepidation … Meredith Thomas’s pictures are full of colour and movement … This would be a great springboard book for pre-school children.
… This is a sweet, gentle story that explores the theme of fears and overcoming those fears. While it’s a terrific choice for reluctant swimmers, it is also a great pick for young kids who are looking forward to their first summer on the beach. Special mention must be made of Thomas’s superb illustrations … she has captured the movement of water to perfection.
A Swim in the Sea intimately and affectionately encapsulates a special time in a child’s life.
This quality, hardback picture book is a perfect way of introducing young children to the big, blue sea.
A Swim in the Sea is a superb little slice of summertime fun and perfect to read with pre-schoolers, beach lovers and those still slightly wary of the surf like me.
This would be a great springboard book for pre-school children.
A charming story of feeling safe, or overcoming a fear of the sea, this will have wide appeal to young children
