Creators

David Atherton is the winner of "The Great British Bake Off" 2019. David grew up in a family of five children in North Yorkshire where his love of cooking was inspired by his mother’s freshly baked bread and cakes every week. His passion for food led to a career in healthcare and, alongside his Bake Off achievements, David works as an international health advisor, spending time in UK Aid-funded hospitals overseas. His mother’s home cooking and inspiration from his travels, as well as his knowledge in nutrition and healthcare, inspire his recipes today.
Alice Bowsher is a London-based illustrator who works primarily with chunky black ink to create joyful characters, large scale murals and illustrated sets. The imagery she produces is simple, playful and intriguing, full of quick spontaneous marks. She has illustrated and authored a number of children’s books including Curious and Scruff published by Hato Press. As a vegetarian herself, Alice is super-excited to bring her trademark vitality and wit to My Green Cook Book.
