Have you ever wondered what a day in the life of an infant is really like? In this bluesy story, sometimes being a baby is enough to make you cry! The new book from the author of Saturday Night at the Dinosaur Stomp.

Oh, baby, wouldn’t it be grand to be a baby? No worries, no woes, the whole world doing everything for you. Like floating down easy street. But just wait one guitar-pickin’ minute. That’s a lie! Babies can’t talk, can’t walk, can’t even really chew. It’s enough to make the baby in this story blue, blue, blue. So get ready for a sad tale of soggy nappies, mushy meals and sleepin’ behind bars – which rather than making you cry, too, will more likely make you giggle! Groovily illustrated by Lauren Tobia, Carol Diggory Shields' ode to babyhood will have readers feeling anything but blue.

Carol Diggory Shields is the author of The Bugliest Bug (9780744598131) and Saturday Night at the Dinosaur Stomp (9781406312683), which she was inspired to write after "being called a Nagosaurus by my five-year-old". Her years of being around children have definitely helped her get a feel for the stories that kids love, told in animated verse with an infectious beat. The author of several books for children, Carol lives in northern California.
