Eli Brown
Eli Brown, author of Oddity and its forthcoming sequel Mooncussers, was born in San Francisco, a child of high school English teachers. There his siblings and he used to cut tunnels into massive blackberry bushes and play like hares in the briars. After taking some writing classes at UC Santa Cruz where he studied visual art, Eli got a MFA in fiction writing from Mills College in Oakland California. He used to write poetry, which helped him hone his sense of imagery and brevity. Painting with watercolours helped him develop persistence, as his stack of rejection letters can prove. In his free time Eli loves gardening, cooking, and parenting his two kids with his life partner, Melissa.
