Does anyone tell them they love them? Madeline Finn is determined to help the shelter dogs. But can she find a way to make each one of them feel special? With the help of some friends and a few good books, she just may discover that even small people can make a big difference.
Creators
American author and illustrator Lisa Papp was inspired by her local library’s “Read-to-Dogs” program. “These former shelter dogs are now spending their lives helping children. It’s a beautiful thing to watch.” Most of the dogs featured in the book were once living a life on the streets or in shelters. Lisa spent the better part of a year following these wonderful dogs and their dedicated owners.

Books Up North
The second book in the Madeline Finn series from American illustrator and author Lisa Papp is like a warm hug in book form. It is a perfect book to share with young children and I simply cannot wait to snuggle up and read it to the youngest relative.
View from the Bookshelves
The cheerful story, narrated in first-person present-tense by Madeline, concludes with a lonely dog being adopted by a boy who is one of the volunteer readers. Charming, soft-focus illustrations in pencil and watercolor have an old-fashioned flavor, with appealing dogs and a quiet, pastel palette.
