Maurice is the Station Mouse, and so he must follow The Station Mouse Handbook:
Rule 1: A Station Mouse must remain unseen.
Rule 2: A Station Mouse must never go out in the daytime.
Rule 3: A Station Mouse must never approach the passengers.
Now, there's a reason why these rules exist: people do not like mice. And if Maurice breaks the rules, even to help a little boy who has lost something very important, there's going to be a price to pay…
Meg graduated from the prestigious MA in Children's Book Illustration at the Cambridge School of Art. Printmaker, illustrator and unapologetic Hercule Poirot aficionado, she now lives in Inverness (where she is trying to rebuild her natural Scots' resolve against the cold) with her other half Jon and their impressive Lego collection.
Rich, detailed illustrations from a rising star in the picture book world
The Station Mouse is a perfect bedtime read. Every page is a feast to the eye, with jokes and things to spot to keep it interesting read after read.
A delightful tale
The Station Mouse is bound to be a sure-fire favourite to share with those aged three or so.
Well worth putting on the shelves in any classroom.
The School Librarian
Meg McLaren just keeps on getting better and better; this is my favourite of her stories so far.
