Over fifty poems celebrating all aspects of our relationship with the animal kingdom. The first solo collection from an already well-known and much-anthologised poet.
Come on a nature adventure, in over 50 poems about all kinds of animals, from the albatross to the wombat! Find a coiling cobra, a crosseros rhinoceros, the chimpantease and sharky-lurky. See tiger shadows in the bedroom, a real tiger creeping in the jungle – and lazy lion lounging in the long grass. Discover endangered creatures: a baby polar bear, a song thrush, a hungry hedgehog. Look for diving penguins and the loveable sausage-dog – and there's a secret pet to guess! This is a wonderful, wide-ranging debut collection for animal-lovers everywhere.

Kate Williams' poems have appeared in many anthologies and magazines but this is her first solo collection. Kate spent her childhood in London, next door to a cat, a tortoise and some terrapins. She later moved to Bristol – in earshot of the zoo – and now lives in the rolling farmland of Wales, surrounded by baas, moos and cock-a-doodle-do’s.
Hannah Asen was born and brought up in London. She studied art and languages at Edinburgh University and then went to live and work in Berlin, Germany. In 2017 she returned to Scotland and now lives in the East Lothian countryside close to Edinburgh. Hannah is also illustrator of Matt Goodfellow's poetry collection, Chicken on the Roof, published by Otter-Barry Books.
