When Nyla has to leave her home in the countryside to start life again in the city, all she can think about is everything she misses from before. So when a comet comes crashing through the city streets and starts to glow and grow, Nyla can’t resist a chance to head somewhere that feels closer to what she had before … but what starts as an escape could be just the thing to make her finally feel at home.
From the award-winning Joe Todd-Stanton, comes an exquisite and heartfelt picture book touching on the bewildering experience of moving house. This beautiful story explores how this can affect a child's sense of belonging, but also how it can open them up to new and wonderful experiences.

Reviews
I adore Joe Todd-Stanton not only for his illustrations in books such as ‘Dungeon Runners’ and Liz Flanagan’s excellent ‘Wildsmith’ series, but also his ability to write incredibly imaginative stories… Joe T-S brings light and warmth but at the same time honesty when parents can sometimes lose sight of how much something can affect children, which I really adore… The details on each page are jaw-droppingly beautiful melding reality with magic…What an amazing picture book, I can’t wait to see what the future holds for J T-S!
Waterstones Bookseller Review
Flying Eye have a track record of producing beautifully illustrated graphic novels for young children, and Joe Todd-Stanton’s The Comet falls squarely within that category. It’s also idyllic, imaginative and comforting in showing the life of Nyla having to accept a change taking her away from the familiar. […] The illustration is awe-inspiring, beautiful to look at, sparking the imagination, and with so much to discover, especially when the book has to be turned on its side to appreciate Nyla and her father visiting the other residents in their block. That’s far from the only occasion, but is the most packed. All in all, gorgeous.
