Get ready to celebrate Lunar New Year in this delightful story.
Ren and his family are preparing for the New Year celebrations – cooking a feast and tidying up. But when Ren accidentally rips apart his mum’s dragon costume for the New Year parade, he has to ask his neighbours for help. As they provide him with the materials he needs to fix the dragon, he learns all about Lunar New Year traditions around the world and soon they are all celebrating together with a festive feast. A heartfelt story from chef and food writer Lara Lee in her picture book debut, richly illustrated by Natelle Quek.

Reviews
Welcoming the Lunar New Year: Celebrate & Make would be a great addition to any family home to help to raise awareness and build experiences of different celebrations and cultures around the world. It would also be a brilliant book to have in any KS1 classroom in a school; it’s incredibly informative whilst being presented in a child-friendly, narrative format.

Armadillo Books
This is a welcome addition to the still rather sparse selection of picture books about festivals from a range of cultures…I strongly recommend this beautiful, informative picture book that will hopefully inspire lots of art and craft work, cooking and discussion about different customs and celebrations.
