CASSANDRA CLARE'S NEW TRILOGY ACQUIRED BY WALKER BOOKS

Walker Books is delighted to announce the acquisition of UK, Australian, New Zealand and Export Rights to The Last Hours a stunning new Shadowhunters trilogy from publishing phenomenon Cassandra Clare set in Edwardian London and fin de siècle Paris, to publish in 2017.

Rights were acquired by Gill Evans, Walker Books UK fiction publisher from Danny Baror of Baror International Inc. for a six-figure sum.

Cassandra Clare was named by The Bookseller as one of the Top 50 publishing brands in 2013 with sales in the UK worth £2 million, an increase from the previous year of 261%.

This is the third series Walker Books will publish from Cassandra Clare, following bestsellers The Infernal Devices (Clockwork Angel, Clockwork Prince and Clockwork Princess) and The Mortal Instruments (City of Bones, City of Ashes, City of Glass, City of Fallen Angels and City of Lost Souls). The sixth and final book in the series, City of Heavenly Fire, will be released on May 27th 2014.

The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones was made into a blockbuster movie, released August 2013, which saw the entire series enter the UK bestsellers chart, and the first in the series, City of Bones, peak at Number 1 in the Nielsen Children’s Book Charts in the same month.
