“A charming and dynamic rendition.” — School Library Journal

The horse is ready, the air is bracing, and everyone is bundled into the sleigh. So let the wind blow and the snow start to fall! Matt Tavares, with his keen eye for detail, fresh and surprising perspectives, and all the warmth and coziness of a big holiday dinner, illuminates the original text of Lydia Maria Child’s verse about Thanksgiving Day, which has marked the start of the holiday season for generations of children.

  • The midi size earns this volume a place alongside other extremely successful midi editions of other Candlewick holiday classics, including Twas the Night Before Christmas, Great Joy, The Christmas Miracle of Jonathan Toomey, Harvey Slumfenberger s Christmas Present, and Gingerbread Pirates.
  • Sized and priced to make an easy and attractive gift for folks of various faiths and traditions.
  • The familiar holiday song, associated with both Thanksgiving and Christmas and illustrated by New England resident, Matt Tavares.
