By Roxane Orgill
Illustrated by Stephane Jorisch

“Informative, with spry visuals...A class act.” —Publishers Weekly (starred review)

In this fascinating story of child stars who dance their way to knockout success on Broadway and beyond, Roxane Orgill and Stéphane Jorisch team up for a bravura performance, capturing the sophistication, fluidity, and grace of two of the biggest names in dance history, Fred and Adele Astaire. Back matter includes an author’s note, suggestions for further reading, suggested resources, and an index.

  • A picture book biography reformatted as a 6 x 9 and included in a range of Candlewick Biographies, targeting the educational market.
  • Subjects are a refreshing alternative to "the usual suspects."
  • The Astaires are from recent history, making a nice bridge between parents and grandparents who saw them perform in movies and on television, and kids who may have some passing familiarity with the name "Astaire."
