About the author

Vivian French is a professional storyteller who worked for over ten years in children’s theatre as a writer and performer. She is an acclaimed children's author who has written many books for children, both fiction and non-fiction and over forty picture books for Walker. She has written Yucky Worms, Growing Frogs and T. Rex in the Nature Storybooks series, the picture books Lullaby Lion and Polly's Pink Pyjamas, and numerous retellings of fairytales and folktales. She lives in Edinburgh.

About the illustrator

Helen Oxenbury is among the most popular and critically acclaimed illustrators of her time. Her numerous books for children include Smarties Book Prize-winning Farmer Duck by Martin Waddell; We're Going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen; as well as her classic board books for babies. She won the Kate Greenaway Medal for Alice in Wonderland. She lives in London, NW3.
