About the author

Cheryl Willis Hudson is the author of numerous books for children, including the popular Afro-Bets ABC Book and Afro-Bets 123 Book. In 1988 she and her husband, Wade Hudson, founded Just Us Books, one of the leading publishers of Black interest titles for young people.

About the illustrator

Richard Sobol has been a photojournalist for more than 25 years. His photos have appeared in National Geographic, Time, Newsweek and numerous other magazines. He spend three years documenting the construction of Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Stata Centre, designed by celebrated architect Frank O. Gehry.
