About the author

Mick Manning and Brita Granström specialize in lyrical non-fiction picture books. They have written and illustrated over 60 books and have won many awards, including the Smarties Silver Award, the English Association Award and The Royal Society Young People’s Book Award. Their previous books, published internationally and in many languages, include the award-winning Fly on the Wall series, Tail-End Charlie, What Mr Darwin Saw, Charles Dickens: An Extraordinary Life, Nature Adventures, Wild Adventures, The Beatles and William Shakespeare. Mick and Brita live in the Scottish Borders.

About the illustrator

Brita Granstrom was born in 1969 in Eskilstuna, Sweden. She is an award winning artist and illustrator who now lives in Great Britain. Brita studied Graphic Design and illustrations at Konstfack, Sweden’s National School of Art and Design. She has won several prizes for he books including the Smarties Book Prize Silver Award for "The Wold’s Full of Babies" and the TES Junior Information Book Award for "What’s Under the Bed?" She is also known for her collaborations with her husband, writer and illustrator Mick Manning. A prolific team, Brita and Mick have produced picture books for young readers as well as nonfiction titles such as the Fly on the Wall Series.
