Adder, Bluebell, Lobster

By Chrissie Gittins
Illustrated by Paul Bommer

This is nature close up, exciting - and WILD.

Watch out for bossy Beetroot and Tish, the oldest Goldfish in the world; be enchanted by a Bluebell witch's thimble, spot a divebombing Lark and a cute Great-Crested Newt. From Adder to Wren, forty fantastic wild poems celebrate forty amazing animals, birds and plants - and their beautiful names. Read the poems and help poet Chrissie Gittins save them from extinction.

  • Strong publicity potential: each poem features an animal, bird or plant whose name was left out of the latest Oxford Children's Dictionary.
  • Dramatic and vivid poetic imagery brings the natural world up close.
  • Cross curricular opportunities for science.
