Russell Ayto

Russell Ayto is a popular children's illustrator whose books include "Quacky quack- uack!" (written by Ian Whybrow and short listed for the Mother Goose Award and the Nestle Children’s Book Prize), "Super Sue" and "Super Sue at Super School". He won the Gold Nestle Children’s Book Award in 2003 for "The Witch's Children" (written by Ursula Jones). He was also short listed for the Kate Greenaway Award, 2004, for "One More Sheep" by Mij Kelly. Russell earned his BA with honours in graphics at Exeter College of Art and Design in England. Before illustrating children's books, he worked for various magazines including Time Out and The Sunday Observer and at one point, worked as a part-time postman. Russell lives with his wife and three children in Penzance, England.
