Fougasse

Kenneth Cyril Bird illustrated as “Fougasse” and is best known for his Careless Talk Costs Lives posters which he drew during WW2 for the Ministry of Information and for which he was awarded the honour of CBE. He was editor of Punch magazine from 1949 until 1953. His drawings and cartoons succeeded in communicating often serious issues in a humorous and light-hearted way. Fougasse died in 1965 aged 77.
