Christina Booth

Christina Booth is an award winning author and illustrator working from her bush studio in Tasmania, Australia. Starting her career illustrating for great Australian authors such as Max Fatchen, Colin Thiele and Jackie French, Christina made her debut as an author with her picture book Purinina, A Devil's Tale, (Lothian/Hachette) in 2006. Two of her picture books have since been highly awarded: Kip, (Windy Hollow), the story of a city rooster finding his crow winning a CBCA Honour Book award and Welcome Home, (Ford Street), the tale of a story telling whale returning after a brutal history of whaling, winning the Environmental Award for Children's Literature. Many other books have been listed as CBCA Notable Books. Christina loves that she gets to tell stories and colour in for a living and loves to share her passion of reading, the environment and stories through her work with children and adults alike.
