Brian Falkner was born and raised in Auckland.
New Zealand author Brian Falkner will be one of the guest authors participating in the daily SCHOOL DAYS PROGRAM sessions at the
Sydney Writers Festival
Mon – Fri 17 – 21 May 2010
Brian will also be sharing a panel with fellow YA science fiction author Anthony Eaton and facilitated by SMH reviewer Angie Schiavone on Sunday 23 May 2010 as together they explore the boundaries between present and future, real science and science fiction.
Brian Falkner has written five books – three of which are Junior Fiction and which will be the focus of his sessions during School Days: The Real Thing, The Flea Thing and Superfreak.
Brian’s two most recent books Brainjack and The Tomorrow Code are tech-thrillers for young adults that boasts a great appeal for teenage boys. Brainjack is currently shortlisted for the 2010 New Zealand Post Children’s Book Awards due to be announced on 19 May 2010.
Brian says in anticipation of his visit next week, “I’m really looking forward to being a part of SWF’s school days program. I’ve got a lot of fun stuff, and a few surprises, lined up for the kids!”
Walker Books will be publishing Falkner’s new novel The Project in October 2010.
