Monk Ashland is a longtime fan of fantasy fiction and anime and has spent the last decade tuned in to kids, technology, and storytelling. He has lived as a teacher in China and done research from Seoul to Sao Paulo. His writing partner, Nigel Ashland, contributes his master of fine arts degree and experience as a fifth grade teacher (when he’s not fishing in Belize or Argentina). Both authors live in Chicago.
