The Monster in the Backpack: (Candlewick Sparks)

By Lisa Moser

An irresistible comedy about a flabbergasted schoolgirl and a little monster who'd be a welcome addition to any backpack.

There's a monster in Annie's backpack who devours her lunch, puts bubble gum in her boots and turns her homework into confetti. Annie's stomach is rumbling from hunger, and her friend's plain green backpack is starting to look pretty good, but is a nice, normal backpack what Annie really wants?

  • A humorous early reader that all school aged children will relate to.
  • A delighful story about seeing the good side to everything.

About the author

This is Lisa Moser's first book, she says, "The Monster in the Backpack is based on our naughty dog, who has stolen birthday cakes and chewed bubble gum. We love him in spite of all of that. That's what good friends do".

About the illustrator
