An exploration of grief and healing.
Annie Rossi lives in New York City with her mother, Mrs Rossi, and her father, Professor Rossi. They have a happy life, with trips to the sea in the summer and back-to-school excitement in Autumn. And when Mrs Rossi gets sick, no one, absolutely no one, expects her to die -- least of all eight-year-old Annie. Everything is different without Mrs Rossi, and Annie and her father have to learn how to get along, just the two of them. Helping them through the difficult first year is a very special book made by the students in Mrs Rossi's sixth-grade class.
Amy Hest is the author of numerous picture books as well as the novels "Love You, Soldier", "The Private Notebook of Katie Roberts, Age 11" and "The Great Green Notebook of Katie Roberts". She lives in New York City.
Heather Maione has illustrated numerous children's books, including the Sly the Sleuth series by Donna Jo Napoli and Robert Furrow. She lives on Long Island, New York.
