About the author
Jessica Spanyol began making picture books as a child to help with her reading and spelling. When she returned to writing as an adult, she based her first characters directly on her childhood stories. In between this, Jessica spent seven years studying fine art at three different colleges, achieving a distinction for her MA in Illustration at the Royal College of Art. Since then, she has worked in a variety of jobs including being an artist in residence at a boy’s school and for the Royal Shakespeare Company, a set designer, a fine art photographer and a university lecturer.
