A beautiful, captivating story-within-a-story, by an award-winning author.
Charlotte has a favourite story. It's a story about a little girl and her mummy who rescue a kitten from the sea. From the car window the little girl spots something moving in the dark, and in the night she and her mother go down to the sea to investigate. There they find a little lost kitten, stranded on a rock. They take him home and call him Moonlight, because they found him by the light of the moon. Charlotte loves the story because it's about her -- and she and her mummy can re-tell it together while Moonlight sleeps on her lap.
Martin Waddell is widely acknowledged as one of the greatest living writers of books for children. He was honoured in 1994 with the Hans Christian Andersen Medal and has twice won the smarties Book Prize (for "Can't You Sleep, Little Bear?" and "Farmer Duck").
