Malachy Doyle grew up in a little seaside town called Whitehead, at the mouth of Belfast Lough. He lived in Ireland until he was 18, when he came over to England to go to college. Malachy did a degree in psychology and then trained to teach. He taught for a year but ended up working in advertising till he was thirty. At this point he decided it was time for a life change and moved to Wales with his wife and three children. Here he worked as a care assistant in a special school and then became a special needs teacher. It was ten years later, at age 40, that Malacy decided to become a writer, whilst attending creative writing classes. Some of his books include, "Antonio on the Other Side of the World", "The Bold Boy" and "Jody’s Beans".
