Lorraine Orman was educated at the University of Auckland, and completed her training as a librarian in Wellington in 1970. A career librarian, Orman worked in a secondary school library and a teachers’ training college library. Having written short stories as a hobby for most of her life, she gave up full-time library work to concentrate on writing children’s novels.She has published several books for children and young adults.
