Gerry Bobsien

Gerry Bobsien graduated from the University of Technology in 1993 with a BA Communications. She has worked as a journalist, media advisor, artist and curator. Gerry has her own arts practice and has a trade background in industrial blacksmithing and fabrication engineering. She has worked in an industrial forge in Melbourne making tools and large architectural works and, alongside her husband, operates a studio artmetal business called Fe26. She surfs most mornings at Bar Reef Newcastle.

Until recently she was Public Art Curator at Newcastle Region Art Gallery and is now Director of the Lock-up cultural centre. She guest lectures in public art at the Newcastle Art School and The University of Newcastle, NSW and is a post-graduate student in the faculty of Education and Art at The University of Newcastle.
